Privacy Policy

Called Shot is an informational app for tracking your own predictions on public prediction markets. It is built and operated by James Watson, an individual developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to stamp and grade your calls, we never sell data, and you can have everything deleted on request.
What we collect
- An anonymous device identifier. The app generates a random ID on first launch. It is not your name, email, phone number, Apple ID, or advertising identifier. It is how we know which calls are yours.
- The calls you log. The market, the side you took, the price, your stated confidence, the server timestamp, an optional private note, and the graded result once the market settles.
- An optional handle. If you choose one, it appears on receipts you share. Pick something you are comfortable showing publicly.
- Optional Polymarket wallet addresses. If you paste a public wallet address to import positions, we store that address and the public positions we fetched for it. Wallet addresses are public blockchain data; we never ask for or store private keys.
- Optional Kalshi API credentials (Pro). If you connect a Kalshi account, your API key ID and private key are encrypted at rest and used only to read your positions and fills. We never place orders. Kalshi keys are not permission-scoped by Kalshi, so you should treat connecting as a trust decision; you can disconnect at any time and we delete the key immediately.
- Purchase status. Whether your device has an active Pro subscription, reported to us by RevenueCat (App Store purchases) or Paddle (web purchases; Paddle.com Market Ltd / Paddle.com Inc. is the merchant of record). We do not receive or store card numbers.
- Anonymous usage events. Screen views and button taps tied to the device identifier, used to understand what works. No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- Push notification tokens. Only if you enable settlement alerts.
What we do not collect
- No name, email address, or phone number unless you email us for support.
- No contacts, photos, location, or advertising identifiers.
- No funds. Called Shot never holds money, places wagers, or executes trades.
How we use it
To stamp, store, and grade your calls; to compute your statistics; to render receipts you choose to share; to unlock Pro features you paid for; to send settlement alerts you asked for; and to fix bugs. That is the complete list.
Public receipts
Every call has a receipt page at calledshot.si. Anyone with the link can view it. A receipt shows the market, your side, the price, the stamp time, the graded result, your handle if you set one, and summary statistics such as your Brier score and rank. Receipts never show your device identifier, your private note, or your wallet addresses. Receipt pages are not listed anywhere; they are reachable only by sharing the link.
Sharing and third parties
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. Data is processed by:
- Our hosting providers, which run the API and this website.
- Kalshi and Polymarket, whose public APIs we query for market data and, where you ask, your positions.
- RevenueCat for subscription status; Paddle as merchant of record for web payments.
- Apple, for push notifications and App Store purchases.
Retention and deletion
Calls and statistics are kept while you use the app, because a stamped call that disappears would defeat the point. To delete everything associated with your device identifier, email support@calledshot.si from the app's Settings → Delete my data link, or include the device identifier shown in Settings. We delete within 30 days and confirm by reply. Deleting the app alone does not delete server data.
Age
Called Shot is for adults. You must be 18 or older, and old enough to legally use prediction markets where you live. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Security
Data travels over HTTPS. Exchange credentials are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will notify you through the app and this page.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app.
